CT Layouts Stacey Crossley - It's A Fun Thing

This was a really fun kit to work with. Lots of great elements. I've completed one layout and will be doing another one soon. This layout features my guys having a great time destroying the backyard. This was one of the parenting moments that you had to enjoy it and capture it instead of having a meltdown about the yard. The template is Racketty Scrappety #54 and the font is Copperplate Gothic Bold. The kit is of course It's A Fun Thing.

A Challenging Challenge

I haven't really spent much time over at GDS (Go Digital) but I do check Andre Gold's blog regularly because I love her templates. Well she is hosting a new challenge and if you used her kit there will be a posting bonus of 2 brand new template grab bags. So I decide to give it a try. Here's the link to the Spiritual Challenge. You were to do a layout about what is unpleasant in your life right now.

I started with an idea of what I wanted to do and as I worked on it I started feeling lots of stuff coming out but as I worked on I felt that still small voice speaking to me giving me a scripture verse that I hadn't really thought about in a while. As the focus of my layout seemed to changed I was tempted to take the other stuff off. Why leave that darker stuff if a great hopeful lesson was learned. But then I realized that the lesson was meaningless without the struggle that proceeded it so I left it all on there. It is really clutter compared to what I usually do but then life right now is cluttered and complicated.

The layout was created with Andrea Gold's My Imperfect Life kit. All of the elements and title words can be found in the kit. You can find the link on the challenge thread. The template is Andrea Gold template 309. The font is a new one for me Schol-Hudson Bold. The photo looking through the whole in the wall was taking in the backyard of the Oldest House in St. Augustine, FL. And in bold move I even included a very little picture of me. This was taken the same day at Ripley's Museum in St. Augustine.

CT Layouts Stacey Crossley - Remember

This kit was wonderful for these family layouts. It would well with both heritage and modern photos.

I created 3 layouts using this kit.

The first layout features our family at a reunion event in 2003. The Template is Andre Gold #368. The font is Market and Eurostile.

The second layout is a tribute to Grandma Lillian. While we were not related by blood we were by the heart. She was a wonderful and caring woman who has been on my mind lately. I still miss her. The template is Chrissy W Sample Pack 6 #4. And since Gram grew up and Brooklyn and then spent may years on Long Island before moving to Florida I used the font Long Island.

The final layout is a tribute to my dad. When I was looking for the picture of Gram I found 3 of my dad taken over the years where he had a similar look on his face. I picked one more older shot to complete the layout. The template is Lina's Layouts #10. The fonts are Impact and Lucida Handwriting.

You can find Remember HERE.

CT Layouts for Crazy Diamond

Crazy Diamond has a great new Christmas Kit called Ho Ho Ho. It was a lot of fun to work with and worked really well for a variety of layouts. It has some cute elements and great papers. I created 3 layouts using this kit.

The first two layouts are from Flywheeler's Christmas 03. We are looking forward to attended 08 this weekend. Since we go every year I tried to focus on what was special or unique that year. The first page is Hannah and the Bubble Snowman. The second page features several other photos and the journaling. The templates are Yin's #10 and 11. The font is Subway.

The third layout is Hannah all dressed up in Samuel's Garden. She looked like she was waiting for something. I used Chrissy W Template #10. The font is Pickwick and Lucida Handwriting.

You can pick up this great kit HERE.

CT Work for My Scrap Shop

This month I got to work with a great Mega Collab Kit called Home for Christmas. I made 3 very different layouts with this great kit and still have only use a few of the paper and elements. You will need to check out this great kit for yourselves HERE.

The first layout is Ponytail Girl. It features Hannah's 1st ponytail. She was so excited. The template I used was Pillowgirl Quick Maker and can be found HERE. The font is Long Island. This was also my entry for the Photo Focus Challenge.

The second layout is Flywheeler's Christmas 04. Going the the village each Christmas has become a great family tradition. We will be heading back again next weekend. The font was for a font challenge and is called Honey I Stole Your Jumper.

The third layout is Cares N Shares 03. The kids visited the nursing home with Camp Fire USA. The made little dinner tray gifts and then sang to the residents. The quote was for a quote challenge.

Here is the previews of Home for Christmas.

Found a New Store

Well as you can see I have not done a very good job of getting back here every day. But we have done our advent stuff almost every day and we are still getting some school done so things are too bad. I found a really great new store and site the other day when picking up a template freebie. It is called Faith Sisters. I just love the feel of the site. I haven't really had a whole lot of time to explore and check it out further but I did check out the store and found a perfect kit for one of my home improvement pages.
These pages feature my guys putting scripture stickers up on the walls, studs, and rafters before the drywall was put up. They got the idea from visiting their dad while working on a Habitat for Humanity build. They workers wrote scripture on the wall. Since some of my guys weren't really great writers yet we used some scripture stickers we had. Not sure what the dry wall guys thought of it when they came back the next day but the kids really had fun putting them up.

The kit was Eyelet Scraps Mia Casa. It happens to be on sale right now and is available here. The font is Minion Pro Bold. The sketch is from the Best of Becky Higgins p 120.

CT Girlfriend Designz - A Hillbilly Christmas

I just finished working with this really cute Christmas kit. It has some great elements. The problem was I just couldn't find some Christmas pictures that I felt really fit the theme. But then I remembered my son's pictures from one of the years he went to North Carolina. They were just perfect for this kit. So with a small alteration of one of the elements and the layout was perfect. I used Racketty Scrappety template 20 a and b. Font is Quick Type II.

You can find the kit HERE.

Santa Photo Layout

There was a discussion on DigiTreats today about Santa photos and since I just finished this great Santa photo layout I thought I would share it here. This layout using Lisa Minor's - Old World Christmas kit. Check blog link on the left side of page and it might still be available for free if not pop over to Scrapdebris to pick it up for a $1. The font Old Century. This layout features a Santa picture of my three youngest taken in 2002. It was taken when we stopped at the mall over by my sister near the holidays. When I received the photo from them this year of my new nephew posing with Santa I did a double take. I'm sure its the same guy. I really loved this Santa because he had a real beard and just seemed like Santa. So you be the judge. Do you think they are the same Santa?

New Tricks make Scrapping Easier

My wonderful husband figured out how we could hook up the 2nd monitor we had to my laptop so now I have one screen to put my stuff in and the 2nd screen to actually have editor open with the layout. This has really helped me speed up the process. To celebrate my new two screen freedom I completed two more layouts.

The first layout is Getting Started and used Lisa Minor's Gypsy Fall kit, a DigiTreats number template, Vagabond font.

Second is Here Comes the Pod - used Lisa Minor's A Simple Fall, Andre Gold Template #312, Title font Corpulent Caps BRK, Journal font - Denmark.

You can find Lisa's stuff here.

CT Layouts for Stacey Crossley

I just created two really fun layouts with Stacey Crossley's Happy Kit. HERE These are some more 2003 layouts. These feature my daughter trying to keep up with her brothers in the getting dirty department. They were teaching her the fun of mud balls.

The second page was done for the Blog challenge over at DigiScrap Station. You can choose any of their weekly sketches and create a layout. The neat thing is that once they get enough entries there will be a nice prize. You can check it out by clicking HERE. The font is CK Keystroke.

This kit has a great mix of neutral and fun colors. It was just perfect for these pictures of one dirty little girl.

Took the Digi-Dare You Challenge

I'm taking Digi-Dare for the first time. Click here to check it out. Digi-Dare You The requirements were 4 photos and one had to be food lined up in such a way that they look like a row. A recipe card for journaling either the recipe or thoughts, use brown, and have a medal fastener that is not a staple.
It just happened that in my family album catch up phase I was coming up on some of these fun meals the boys had cooked. So I used one of their meals for this layout. I didn't include the recipe because that came with the curriculum so I journaled about why the create the meal instead.

I'll have to come back later and let you know if I won.

I used Ladybugs - Recipe of Love Kit again. The font it Tohama. The paper clip is from DigiTreats - Skip elements.

I Hit 500 Layouts

I don't think I'm going to make my goal of 800 for the year since there is only about a month left but I did hit 500 which I doubted I would make around the middle of the year. So here is layout #500. It was a layout I did for the quote challenge at My Scrap Shop. I used CW Pickett's Festive Stars kit that I got as a gift for one of the other challenges. You will have to check out all the great challenges that allow you to pick your own gift. The font is Pickwick. It is a my husband on his birthday a few years ago. It just seemed liked the perfect picture to use with this quote.

CT Layouts for Stacey Crossley

I had a lot of fun with the cute colors and elements in this kit. These two layouts are both from the activities we participated in when we stayed at the hotel in 2003. The kit is Stacey Crossley - Those Poirier Girls. The font is Brankovic and Bradley Hand ITC. The template is the Lisa Minor #8 converted to PSD.

CT Layouts for Crazy Diamond

I took this very Thanksgiving themed kit and used it for two very non-thanksgiving layouts. I love kits with this kind of versatility. The kit is Crazy Diamonds - Giving Thanks. The font for both layouts is Lydian BT.

The first layout is The Contest
The second layout is FPEA Kids 2003

Actually Got Some Scrapping Done

I actually got several challenges and CT work done this weekend. One of my favorite that I did was for a font challenge over at My Scrap Shop. It was a snowy font and I new just where I would use it. I also had this great personalized snow globe I got with a purchase over at DigiTreats. So all These great elements came together for this layout. It is a memory page for Hannah's album. She is still talking about the snow and all the fun of almost 2 years ago. She still missed the snow.
The kit is an older one from Pillowgirl Butterlies at Night. I blended one of the pictures for a dream effect and put her picture in the snow globe. The font is called Ice n Snow or Snowtt.

CT for Girlfriend Designz - Karlena's Kastle

This is one of Jen's older kits but it was just perfect for this Library Time layout. While some of the elements are small they all enlarged without any noticeable loss of quality. To pick up this cute kit at a great price just click on the image of the kit.

This layout is from our library time last month. The story featured the story of the Princess and the Pea and everyone of the kids were surprised to found a "pea" under their seat when the story was over. The word princess is part of the word art and so I looked through my fonts to find something similar to make them match. I used CK Teacher's Pet. I drew the little pea myself.

Again I created some brag book pages. These are available over the Girlfriend Designz Blog. Click here. My personal favorite the one about give me the wand. If you want to know what I mean head over and pick up these brag book pages.

CT for Girlfriend Designz - Counting Crows

This was a great kit to work with. I actually ended up with 3 pages from this kit and I still couldn't use up all the great elements that came with this kit. Jen has been working hard to make improvements in her kits and you can tell in this kit her hard work has more than paid off. Just click on the kit image to be taken to this great kit.

The pictures are from a Pumpkin Festival a few years ago. The font is Jokerman and Kritia. The second page uses DigiTreats Letter template. The 3rd page makes use of one of Racketty Scrappety's templates.

I also made 4 brag book pages for this kit and there are available over to on the Girlfriend Designz Blog. Click here.

Using Sketches

I have discovered new inspiration and fun by dragging out my old paper scrapping idea books. This has worked out really well and has proved to be a lot of fun. And now I don't feel so bad about the money I spent on new idea books just before I switched to digital scrapping. It takes a bit more time to set up then a template where you can just drag, drop, and clip but I've been very happy with the look. Here is an example of a two page spread I completed yesterday. I used the sketch from CTMH Imagine Book p 56-57. The kit for this layout is one of Lisa Minor's. The Sunshine kit is available at Scrapdebris. The font is Garamond. The layout is from a trip to see the Lipizzan stallions back in 2003. They have a troup of them that winter in Florida and they put on a show for free just before they head back out on the road for the summer. It was a wonderful display.

So here's the challenge-- Dig out those old sketch books and see what you can come up with.

CT wor for Crazy Diamond Plus Freebie

This time I got a chance to work with a fun Halloween kit Crazy Diamond's Haunted House. This was a fun kit to work with. I recolored one of the tomb stones for using to do my own journaling and it may show up as an add on so make sure you check out Crazy Diamond's blog. I've also created some Quick Pages for you as well. My layouts feature last year's Trick or Treating with Times New Roman for the font.
