Throwing Some Scraps Around - Cherish
Even though its not February I still found some great used for Cherish by TSSA. The colors are rich and the combination of pinks, blues, and browns was a lot of fun to work with. The elements for this kit are fun and unique as well. You can pick up Cherish by Throwing Some Scraps around HERE at DigiScrap Station.

I used this kit to complete 2 different challenges. This first layout I Love Rainbows is my entry in the Fall Madness contest at Scrap Addict. I used the font Ravie. The challenge was to complete a layout using only one designer and had the theme I Love. I'll let you know later if I made it to round two.

The second layout is for the Fall Daze at DigiScrap Station which you can check out HERE. This is from the Week Two Challenge to create a doll using the elements in a scrap kit. The challenge is open until October 17 so you can try your hand and get an entry in as well.

A Challenging Challenge

I haven't really spent much time over at GDS (Go Digital) but I do check Andre Gold's blog regularly because I love her templates. Well she is hosting a new challenge and if you used her kit there will be a posting bonus of 2 brand new template grab bags. So I decide to give it a try. Here's the link to the Spiritual Challenge. You were to do a layout about what is unpleasant in your life right now.
I started with an idea of what I wanted to do and as I worked on it I started feeling lots of stuff coming out but as I worked on I felt that still small voice speaking to me giving me a scripture verse that I hadn't really thought about in a while. As the focus of my layout seemed to changed I was tempted to take the other stuff off. Why leave that darker stuff if a great hopeful lesson was learned. But then I realized that the lesson was meaningless without the struggle that proceeded it so I left it all on there. It is really clutter compared to what I usually do but then life right now is cluttered and complicated.
The layout was created with Andrea Gold's My Imperfect Life kit. All of the elements and title words can be found in the kit. You can find the link on the challenge thread. The template is Andrea Gold template 309. The font is a new one for me Schol-Hudson Bold. The photo looking through the whole in the wall was taking in the backyard of the Oldest House in St. Augustine, FL. And in bold move I even included a very little picture of me. This was taken the same day at Ripley's Museum in St. Augustine.

Lots Going On
I've been chosen to part of OScrapMoMo also known as Lisa Minor to work on her Creative Team. I've already used a lot of her great kits in the past and now I get to work on them before they come out I'm so excited. I just got the new kit and wow. Watch in the next couple of days for some great layouts. I've also been reading posts in the Yahoo Group adsdesigners. I'm learning and lot and maybe someday I'll be brave enough to try some of my own designing. I'm going to work with one of the designers kits as well and do some layouts and feed back. So I have a lot of stuff to work on. And then to top it all off the great adsdesigner members created a great collaboration kit called Popsicle Paradise that looks like it will be loads of fun to work with. Here is one link to get you started on finding this great kit. DigiScrapalicious You can also find out more about the Designers Yahoo group as well.
GOAL UPDATE: Can't remember if updated my goals but 2004 School album is done and 2005 is about 1/2 finished. I think I must of been camera happy in 2005. I have twice as many pictures for this year than any other if you take out vacation pictures. Also I think I maybe able to talk Hannah into letting me do her 2008 album in digital form as well so that might speed things up. That would just leave Jacob's albums to be done in paper which will be a great way to use up my supplies as I still have plenty of stuff to do for him. Not sure how many individual albums it will turn out to be but he has pictures from a month in South Africa, a month in China, some general school pictures, his road trip to Luther, his Great BBQ search trip, and his most recent trip to South Dakota. Mainly I have a bunch of pictures with out correct dates and locations waiting for him to send pack proof sheets with the appropriate notes that are on my computer just waiting to be printed. And then he has more on his computer that he needs to get to me. My goal is to buy no new paper until I use up what I have.

The Sunshine Blog - Challenge

The challenge was to create a layout telling about yourself. The catch you had to share 14 things. Boy that got to be harder than you would thing. But I took the challenge and I was pretty happy with the results. Sunshine Studio Scraps
I used their brand new Walking in Sunshine Mega Kit. I used one piece of paper, 1 tag, and a bunch of bottle caps. I used Sylfaen font for most of the layout with the exception of the note about my blogs which is Lucida Handwriting.
In case you can read it on my layout the 14 things are:
1. Birthday on St. Patty's Day
2. Florida Native like my dad
3. 1st saw snow in 2007 at the age of 44
4. Homeschooler since 1992
5. Stay at home mom since 1990
6. Former Data Entry Operator
7. Wife to Dan for 20 years
8. Mom to Five ages 24,17,13,10, and 6
9. Like to Cook (Baked Spaghetti)
10. Paper Scrapper
11. New Digi Scrapper
12. Lost one Child
13. Read Romance to relax
14. Have 2 blogs
I did it.

3Scrapateers Marsha's March Puzzle Template Challenge

Okay one more tonight and then I'm done for a while. I used the Frog Pond template provided for the challenge and Frog Pond Designs Defining Moments. Font is Arial Black.
You had to use the clover so I was having a touch time find a picture to use. I finally found these of Hannah and I from 3 years ago. We are posing with my new scrap book mascot Patty O'Bear.

I actually did it

There was a challenge on the Go Digital Forum to create up to 3 recipe card Quick Pages using Andrea Gold Brag Book Recipe Cards Templates and Helen Ehrenhofer's Mom's Diner, Plus Add Ons 1 and 2. Since I already had some of the products because I just loved the Mom's Diner set I decided to try it out. The cards will be sent out to all who participate. I'm hoping to make some family recipe gifts with these. I'm including the preview page I made for the gallery. There is a photo opening on each card. I hope they like what I did but I'm proud that I took the challenge.
