My Final Creative Team
I had decided that I could probably work comfortably on 4 teams. Well my very good friend Mega-Doodle invited me to part of her test team so that made #4. I'm so excited because I love so many of her actions. I really appreciate the fact that she has created some great actions for Photo Shop Actions. Another great feature of her products are the wonderful instructions she includes not only on using the product but getting it set up in your program. And she'll even answers questions if you get stuck. I loved what I learned about loading actions.
Anyway the first new product we got to test out was patterns. She plans to be selling it in 3 different packages
1) Mega-Pattern Set 01 for PS (51 patterns (1 .pat file))
2) Mega-Pattern Set 01 for PSE (51 patterns (1 .pat file))
3) Mega-Pattern Set 01 (58 Overlays and 51 png pattern files) <-- For non-PS users. Here is a link to her store. If the version you want isn't available yet make sure you check back. Mega-Doodle at My Scrap Shop This is not a direct link to the product above because while you're there you'll want t
o check out some of her other great stuff as well.
I used the PSE set and found the directions very easy to use. Here's the paper I created using the patterns. I actually created a base layer in white, red, and blue. I loaded one of the patterns over the red and clipped it and another over the blue. This gave me a great patterned paper. This took me about 10 minutes to create and that included creating the color layers. It was super easy and lots of fun.
Watch for more great use of patterns in upcoming freebies now that I know how it works.

A Day Fish Kit Part 1
OOPSSSS - I messed up and accidently published this too soon. But you benefit from my mistake and get an earlier chance at the paper. The other items will come out as scheduled so be patient the rest will be out next week. -------------------------------------
I have finished another kit. I hope you enjoy it. The idea was came from a day a few weeks ago when I went with my husband and two youngest to go fishing. I found some great shots for texture overlays and one thing led to another and a kit was born. This kit will be released in 3 parts. Part One released today will include the Paper. Part 2 will be the Two Element Files. Part Three will be a QP and Brag Book Page.

And as we are watching two more tropical systems that might impact Florida over the next week or so I'm going to upload and set up automatic blog release. I am included the 1st of a two page layout using the kit and the paper preview.

New Creative Team

I have been chosen for another Creative Team. For this one I'm working with Jenz at GF Design. Notice the new blinkie on the side. Click on to be taken to her blog. These two pages feature a two page layout with highlights of our trip to Williamsburg. I used the GF "Summer Escape" Kit to complete both pages.

Day At the Park Freebie Part Two

Well here is the second part of my first original freebie kit. I'm glad you're stopping by for part two. If you missed Part One just scroll down and you will find it. And as always leave some love and let me know what you think. I used the Color Schemer Studio software to extract colors from the actually photos and with this created a color palette that I used through the kit. Look and see if you can spot the colors in the pictures.
Elements Download

In addition the elements set I'm also featuring the second page of my two page layout. This one features the gang enjoying the park. I loved the saying about the trees and thought it went well with the photos of the boys sitting under the trees. I like the saying so much that I created my first Word Art to include as a bonus to the kit. I usually don't really use a lot of word art but this just seemed to fit the photos well.

Day At the Park Freebie Part One

Well so far Fay has only been a rain issue with a few gusts. Of course looking at some of the models she could continue to be a threat to Florida for another week. We've had no sunshine at all today. Because of the threat of Fay local schools were closed today so instead of my guys doing their school they ended up spending time with their friends at each other's houses and running around outside every time the rain stopped for a while. So while they were busy playing I finally was able to work on my first ever totally all my own idea Freebie Kit. I will offer it in two parts. Part One will be the two sets of a papers and Part Two will be the elements. Watch for Part Two this weekend provided Fay stays as nice to Central Florida as she has so far. Otherwise I will post it as soon as possible. I will probably schedule it but try to up date the personal stuff before it goes live but that way I've got you covered.
The inspiration for this set comes from Munn Park in Downtown Lakeland.
And while it doesn't show up well in the preview there are two papers using the image of the fountain found in the park. There is another paper using the image of the statue in the park. There are also two tags in the elements kit featuring these images as well.Paper Download Part One
Paper Download Part Two
Its really a beautiful little park. My guys were taking classes at the children's museum across the street from the museum. Also in the blocks near the park are some great free form sculptures. So while the boys worked hard at their classes my youngest and I took advantage of the nice spring weather and took a tour of downtown. For the lunch break we picked up sandwiches and ate them in the park along with some of their friends from the class. These pictures are from April 2006.
I created a two page layout with my kit. I will post one page here with the papers and the other page with the elements. The first page highlights the boys' classes and our walk around the sculptures.
And please remember to send you love as this will inspire me to do more.

A New DigiTreats Freebie
Yippee, my back up finished and the hurricane isn't here yet so here's a freebie for you. This is from the DigiTreats family. There will be two more sets of pencils over the next few weeks so watch for new posts.
We are still in the annoying wait and see mode and now there is even one model that projects it coming past us going into the Atlantic and then circling back around for a second hit. Which means this one will probably be gone in time for the next one. But I have some freebies ready so hopefully there will be something for you even if I'm not around.

ADSDesign Collaboration - Zoo Spirit - August 2008
Time for the next great group project. The theme this month is Zoo Spirit. Things were pretty hectic at our house right now. I'm gearing up to start our homeschool up again and dealing with some other issues that have arisen. I saw all the great stuff that was already being prepared for you so I decided to focus my time in creating a whole bunch of critters for you to use. All of these critters are from photos taken by members of my family. My oldest has been blessed with travel for school so we I had some great photos from Uganda in East Africa, South Africa, China, and places in the US. My 3rd born took some really cute pictures of penguins at the aquarium in Bergen, Norway. And I actually had a few zoo pictures myself mostly taken at the Louisville Zoo in Louisville, KY. There is an extracted clear sticker for all of the critters. Then I ran a variety of different actions on the extractions to come up with a variety of critters. I hope you enjoy these additions to the whole Zoo Spirit set.
Remember that we live all over the world and not everyone comes up at the same time. Also remember that while we do our best to have an accurate list life happens to the best of us. So if you find a broken link or a blog that is not participating, please be kind. Also, if
you don't see a freebie yet try back to see if they were able to get their contribution up and running. Also, remember that services like 4Shared can sometimes get grumpy when we all try downloading at the same time. So if you have trouble downloading try back later. All links will be for at least one full month so you have plenty of time. Also, remember that some designers put up full kits with lots of extras, others (like myself) focused on one selective item, while others created quick pages and other fun add-ons. When you collect the whole kit you will have plenty of great stuff to work. Remember to leave all these great ladies comments. It really makes our day and makes create Freebies so much more fun. Personally I prefer comments on my blog when possible. Its easier for me to see them and with more than one download you can leave just one comment. Either way love is very motivational.
Here are the links. There are 4 sets of critters make sure you grab them all.

It's Finally Here - Run Note Stickies

I've been working on the next ADSDesign collaboration but I did take the time out today to finally work on my new design name. I have a new simpler Term of Use. So now that I think I have my act together I'm ready to release my next freebie. The new prefix to the files is Harbor instead of my initials as well to make it easier for you. I have a few more days work on some other things and then hopefully next week I can begin work on some more DigiTreat add-ons.

I hope you enjoy these. And I do appreciate the thanks. It really makes my day.

Some changes

If you didn't notice there is a slight name change on the blog although nothing else has changed. I decided that I wanted my design name to be somewhat separate from my scrapping name and since there is already a Lighthouse Designs I had to work on something else. So we discussed it as a family and I have a design name. So I will be the Lighthouse Scrapper for my scrapping and Harbor Designs for my designing. I have another freebie from the DigiTreat family almost ready to go but I wanted to come up with my design name first. So I will not be reissuing my first few offerings but all new offerings will carry the new design name. I plan on rewriting my TOU to make it simpler and easier to understand as well. So as soon as I get all that together I'll have a freebie for you. I have also started work on the next ADSDesigners Mega Kit which will be released August 1st. So if you enjoyed Backyard Playground which released July 1st and Popsicle Paradise that released June 1st, I'm sure you'll love the kit as well. Who knows how many designers will be part of the group by then.
Finally just for fun I was playing around in PSE today and created a little lighthouse that may or may not become part of my logo. Let me know if you like my simple little hand drawn element. I was hoping to work on some elements for the August kit and do some layouts but decided to back up my PSE catalog of digi things real quick before I got started. I'm still waiting on that of course. I guess I forgot how long it takes. I wish I had thought to start it before church this morning. I suggest you come back later this week for another freebie as I have a bunch of stuff going on the first part of the week.
Thanks for stopping by.

Backyard Playground Mega Collaboration

I'm so excited to be a part of this great collaboration kit Backyard Playground. This is my first time for really doing design work so please leave me feed back. I've had so much fun working on this kit. And because I'm part of something so big I know that you'll have plenty of things to work with. I created the papers using overlays I created with my own photos as well as added texture. I have sticky notes because I think they can be so much fun. The wax seals and bottle caps come plain or worded to meet your needs.
After I had finished up my kit I woke up the other night and thought of a great bonus back for this kit. I went through my photos and found some great critter photos I had. Most of them were taken in our yard. There are a couple taken at Florida theme parks and a few from my oldest son's travels. These are marked in the name of the location.
Finally I've create a layout using some of my Backyard Playground Elements to give you an idea of how it looks.
Now the important stuff. Here are my links.
My Paper - I have decided to break it up into 2 smaller downloads.

And last but not least are the links of the other great designers who are part of this great kit. Remember we all live in different areas of the world and have different family schedules so if you follow a link and nothing is there please check back later. Also remember that things happen beyond a designers control so be kind if you don't find a part of this kit on their website. These links will remain up through the month of July so if you run into trouble come back later and try again. Sometimes accounts like 4Share get grumpy when we all try to download at the same time. Finally, if you like these things put a link to this blog on your site. Please don't steal the download. These are free so why steal just send a link to this or any of the other blogs. Thanks.

Jump Freebie

I've started to do some designing and having something pretty big and exciting coming up in July but in the meantime I've been working on some stuff for my favorite DigiTreat ABC sets. Since we homeschool and I've been working a lot on our school items I think I'll work on school themed stuff in the DigiTreat ABC color sets. I'm not sure how often I'll post but there should be a little something every now and then. This first offering is in the Jump Colors. It is a set of sticky notes with a notebook look to them. I used them in a layout further down about Nature Fest if you want to see them action. So with out further talk here is my first freebie.

Nature Fest and A Little Hint of a Freebie to Come

You will notice a cute little sticky note on each page of this layout. This is a hint of a freebie that will be available soon on this blog.
This layout was taken when we went down to a little Nature Fest. The boys really loved getting to do the shooting and it was fun to see Dan even get in the act with the ax throwing. There was a sand pit to do some fossil digging as well. The boys were also very interested in the old planes and other machine near where the car was park. Of course the highlight was getting a bag of ladybugs to come home and release in our own garden.
This layout was created with all Jump Elements available either free or for purchase from DigiTreat with the exception of the sticky notes which I created myself in the Jump colors. The stickies were made with 2 actions one was the sticky note action from Mega-Doodle and the other was the notebook action from Pineapple Plantation. I duplicated the sticky note color layer. Applied the notebook action and then lowered the opacity so that the colored layer underneath showed through. I made a whole set of the Jump sticky notes which I will post as a freebie for you soon. Font is Jester.

Layouts with my own paper

I'm so excited. I've been learning a lot about designing from the yahoo group. Tonight I started to work on this layout and realized while I had some Asian overlays I didn't really have any paper or elements. Well I used the overlays with some of the techniques I have been learning including adding texture to my papers and trying different layers styles such as overlay color lighten. I had so much fun creating these papers and making them work just perfectly for my photos. Since I used some non-commercial items I can't share my papers but maybe I'll be sharing something soon. I created some ribbon with my own papers. I extracted the symbol from the sign out front and used that to create a clip art element that I used on the 2nd page. I also used the same extraction to create a clear acrylic which I put over the journal box box in overlay mode to give it some depth. The Asian overlays are from Scrap Girls LCA Asian Tranquility. The acrylic and clip art actions were from Atomic Cupcake. The ribbon templates and actions came from Christine Smith. I used Mega-Doodle Inspired to create the bottle cap and the journal lines on the journal box. The eyelet ribbon is from Rachel's Scrap Store. The font is Socket.
